Bluehost Joins Forces with PrestaShop

Bluehost, a provider of shared hosting services, has announced a partnership with PrestaShop, an open-source e-commerce solution powering more than 125,000 stores worldwide, to provide its customers with access to one of the world's best e-commerce platforms.

Thanks to the pact, PrestaShop has now been integrated directly into Bluehost instead of requiring separate download and installation. With SimpleScripts, company’s one-click installer, customers can install PrestaShop from within their account and instantly begin building their own e-commerce presence.

"We’re happy to be able to provide PrestaShop directly to our users," said James Grierson, VP of development, Bluehost, in a statement. "Together, we have developed a streamlined solution for small businesses, allowing them to setup their own website and create an e-commerce store in minutes.”

PrestaShop has experienced rapid growth, with availability in 52 languages in over 125,000 stores worldwide.  The open-source platform, which is designed to help business owners create online stores, comes fully equipped with over 310 customizable tools and features.

In July, PrestaShop had announced its new partnership with NuRelm, a software integration and Web development firm that creates easy-to-use Web-based tools for non-technical business professionals.

Those who prefer to keep web-based solutions non-proprietary and non-exclusionary have been closely monitoring the next generation of open-source e-commerce platforms.  PrestaShop caught NuRelm’s attention early on as it was found to be flexible and feature-rich.
