Zurmo Open Source CRM now a part of BitNami Application Library

Zurmo, the developer of the Zurmo Open Source (News - Alert) Customer Relationship Management application, announced that its CRM solution has won a contest sponsored by BitNami, an organization that aims to simplify the deployment of web applications. As a result, the Zurmo app will now be a part of the BitNami Application Library, where it will be packaged as an easy to install Open Source CRM BitNami stack.


“Having Zurmo listed on BitNami means another option for easy deployment and even further expansion of our reach,” said Zurmo co-Founder Ray Stoeckicht. “The Zurmo train pulled out of the station at the end of last year after our 1.0 release. It has been accelerating like a silver bullet ever since. The open source community is clearly looking at the project as the next generation CRM. It’s exciting.”

Zurmo Open Source Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application that is mobile, social, and gamified. The solution features extensive documentation and Community Support, full view of contact details, and latest activities widget which allows easy view of historical information. Built on Yii/JQuery, the solution uses Test Driven Development (TDD) and runs on Windows or Linux. It is also offered as a one-click virtual appliance on TurnKey Linux and through an auto installer on A2Hosting.

 “BitNami is one of the most respected providers of Open Source software packages out there,” said Zurmo co-Founder and Lead Developer Jason Green. “It is an honor to be included in the application library next to other projects for which we hold considerable esteem.”

Meanwhile, Zurmo has made it more user friendly by allowing various contributors to work on the localization of this application. According to Zurmo, enthusiasm for its Open Source CRM Project has been growing all over the world. It has therefore become necessary for the firm to make this application available in as many languages as possible, the company stated.
