2e Systems Unveils Enhanced eeCrewConnect for JetBlue Airways
By Carolyn J Dawson
2e Systems recently unveiled an enhanced eeCrewConnect platform especially for JetBlue Airways. The latest release includes several novel features that considerably enhance communications to pilots and cabin crew in case of operational interruptions. The latest platform also enhances the general daily competence of the pilots and cabin crew.
Airline crews will be well-conversant regarding changes influencing them through SMS and e-mails sent by the platform.
eeCrewConnect sits atop current crew planning, HR and operations systems. Crew members are contacted directly by eeCrewConnect in the event of any reschedules. The system monitors acknowledgements, resends data and/or informs the superiors in the event a crew member cannot be contacted within a predefined time limit.
Nearly two years ago, 2e Systems had planned, developed and deployed the groundbreaking mobile platform for JetBlue Airways. 2e Systems has now incorporated improved features into the platform.
SMS and e-mail are used by the platform to input the received acknowledgements straight into the Crew Roster system of JetBlue. The platform offers check-in reminder for crew members, with an added facility to permit check-in remotely through SMS or other channels.
The latest release includes Commuter Status model, which can be used by Crew Control for re-planning and positioning by supervising crew members on dynamic and commuter accessibility.
In a statement, David Fuller, director for SOC Transformation Management, JetBlue Airways said, "Keeping our crew members up to date on their assignments, as well as changes to their schedules remains a priority for us. The platform provided by 2e Systems continues to afford us the capability to manage one-to-one communication with each crew member; even during high load periods caused by inclement weather and airport closures."
The enhanced eeCrewConnect platform offers notices related to hotel ground transport and day-rooms. Crew members are provided impromptu SMS and e-mail notifications related to operational and other issues. Crew members are informed about probable reschedule deadlines by the flight cancellation messaging feature, thereby decreasing calls and interruptions to Crew Control.
Crew Control can maintain a summary of all operations with the enhanced eeManager Administration portal. The modified portal highlights the areas where action is needed and monitors received acknowledgements from crew members.
