Cyan Launches CyStore Online B2B Marketplace

Cyan, a supplier of software-defined metro network solutions, unveiled a new online B2B marketplace, CyStore, to augment its software-enabled business service management portfolio.

Officials explained that CyStore will serve as an e-commerce portal that will take Cyan’s customers and network administrators through an easy-to-follow procurement process. They will be able to easily purchase equipment, software and services from Cyan and global third-party suppliers.

“CyStore is a perfect example of how Cyan focuses on total solutions and partnerships. It also illustrates the ease of doing business with Cyan,” said John Greene, chief network architect, Great Plains Communications.

CyStore offers Cyan’s software defined planning, management and verification software; Z-Series platforms; CyanPRO services; SFP/XFP optical transceivers, line cards and jumper cables, among others.

Customers can search, find and order products conveniently. In addition, CyStore integrates Cyan’s cloud-based network planning resources and customer relationship management (CRM) systems, which delivers price quotes matching the existing contracts with the customer who requested it.

CyStore users then get to purchase products directly or generate a purchase request, which will be automatically routed for approval.

“Not only is Cyan improving the way we build and operate our networks; now they’re helping us optimize our business processes in order to better serve our own customers. CyStore’s automated routing and approval process accelerates our ability to select, purchase and deploy equipment, improving the speed of our business, while reducing effort and back-office delays,” Greene added.

The estimated shipping dates are also offered by CyStore, and this real-time data is expected to be beneficial for products like optical XFP and SFP+ transceivers with specific wavelength components, which have shorter or longer lead times.

After ordering for a product, customers can track the shipment.

By automating what had previously been time-consuming manual processes, CyStore improves productivity for our customers, gives them more control over their businesses, and minimizes errors. Recently, Cyan entered into a partnership with Nissho Electronics, a Japanese distributor and system integrator of IT related products and services. Nissho will market, deploy and support Cyan’s innovative software-defined metro network solution, which boasts capabilities similar to that of a network packet broker throughout Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam.
