Transition Networks (News - Alert) has released its CONVERGE Element and Service Management System, an intelligent, highly-scalable, carrier grade solution that simplifies management and service provisioning of its carrier Ethernet products.

The company is introducing a new network management solution, CONVERGE EMS, which leverages the advanced CE 2.0 features of its NIDS and access switches, said Kevin Faulds, director of product management at Transition Networks.

With CONVERGE EMS, service providers can better compete by offering differentiated services and reducing OpEx through proactive problem identification, while accelerating revenue recognition by meeting customer SLA requirements and improving customer satisfaction, Faulds said.

This new offering comes with powerful, performance monitoring features, enabling service providers to easily meet the most complex SLAs. Company officials said the service providers will select CONVERGE to help improve customer satisfaction by enabling the carriers to easily monitor and troubleshoot issues, increase revenue and grow services, as well as reduce the complexity and configuration of deploying and managing their networks.

A standards-based, fully integrated service and resource manager for MEF (News - Alert) CE 2.0 services, CONVERGE EMS is powered by the Amartus Chameleon OS platform. It supports the full service life cycle including the design, deployment and operation of end-to-end CE 2.0 services and devices.

Moreover, thanks to its service design capabilities, service providers can quickly build and maintain a catalog of differentiated service offerings, provisioned using an advanced multi-stage provisioning engine that supports rapid turn-up and zero-touch provisioning.

The key focus of this offering is to provide service providers with rapid deployment and operation of services across Transition Networks equipment, said Michael Kearns, CEO at Amartus.

Kearns said CONVERGE EMS delivers a comprehensive top-down, service-centric experience well beyond that offered by traditional fault, configuration, accounting, performance and security (FCAPS)-based element management systems (EMS).

In addition to featuring a consolidated network-wide inventory view and advanced scheduling capability¸ CONVERGE EMS comes with operational, administrative and maintenance (OAM) fault and performance monitoring dashboards. These dashboards reportedly show a customizable, real-time view of the network and key performance indicators (KPI) based on IEEE (News - Alert) 802.1ag and ITU-T .1731 measurements.

Minneapolis-based Transition Networks is a manufacturer of high-quality access and backhaul equipment for data communications and telecommunications applications.

In October, the company showcased its full-suite of mobile backhaul products built to provide a comprehensive set of solutions for any generation of mobile backhaul migration.
