Future Facilities Enhances 6SigmaDC Suite 7.1 and Announces its Availability
By Jyothi Shanbhag
Future Facilities North America, a company specializing in predictive data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software for data center design and operations, has announced that it has enhanced its 6SigmaDC Suite 7.1 with improved functionality and usability for modeling and reporting.
The new improvements incorporated into 6SigmaDC Release 7.1 include 'Snap Functionality,' which enables users to have a continuous visual feedback about the placement of objects relative to one another in the model.
Users are even allowed to use the controllers, which are more flexible and can manage both temperature and pressure simultaneously. This feature helps users to prioritize one or the other.
In addition, users can also form complex models without the need to check on the alignment of data center components as they build their virtual facility. The company has also made it convenient for users to easily perform cooling duct design and modeling with easier sketching.
They can also manipulate the graphical view in the snap function to join transitions from one shape to another with speed and precision, allowing additional cooling vents to be changed effortlessly from 'hollow' to 'solid.'
"With higher levels of granularity, 6SigmaDC Release 7.1 promises even more realistic data center modeling," said Mark Seymour, CTO at Future Facilities. "As a result, users of the 6SigmaDC suite can expect to see improvements in usability and productivity throughout the data center lifecycle from design to decommissioning."
What’s more, users are also allowed to use a new search tool that can do dynamic searches of the entire 6SigmaDC library. This involves the database of equipment images for use within the Virtual Facility and additional 250 new symbols, as well as the inclusion of a comprehensive catalogue of Great Lakes' 5-star E, EN and ES Series equipment cabinets.
