KorTerra Inc. has unveiled a smartphone app, which offers safe digging and critical ‘call before you dig’ information. Minnesota’s Gopher State One Call, a call before you dig center, is presently using the latest damage prevention app from KorTerra. Smartphone users can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google (News - Alert) Play.
The latest app allows an added opportunity of communication to call centers, like Gopher State One Call. Users who are aiming to dig are therefore offered information about the dig project right on their smartphone in a rapid and simple manner. Users will also receive added information about their dig project, like whether the dig site has been marked with paint or flags, and the significance of the colors of the paint and flags.
Apart from protecting people, the dig information offered to one call center prevents damage to underground utilities. Offering information related to digging is also mandated in all 50 states. Anyone who needs to dig is now provided a simple method by the latest app for ensuring that the state laws are not violated. Apart from delivering safe digging data, the app also provides users with links to present their dig data on the Web.
In a statement, Chris Stendal, president of KorTerra said, “KorTerra is proud to have created an app which will be useful to individuals across the damage prevention industry, while promoting safe digging.”
The damage prevention app utilized by Gopher State One Call comprises of features like E-Ticket, Positive Response, Ticket Search and Utility Color Codes. Users can submit data related to their dig and also draw a map of the dig site right from the smartphone using the E-Ticket feature. Positive reply data can be presented by utility organizations via Positive Response. Users are also able to locate the dig data or information related to a ticket using Ticket Search. The meaning of the colored flags or paint is explained in the Utility Color Codes feature. The app also includes added information like call center manual, owner guide, news feed, damage prevention events and a contact us page.
