Doing What They Do Best is Making Verint Systems Look Bullish

June 4 is the date for a conference call to review Verint’s (News - Alert) First Quarter earnings, which we can only expect will be a celebration of a strong first half for 2014. Shares have climbed from an average $35 this time last year to a high near $50 per share in mid-March 2014. Closing price on May 30 was just below this at $46.33.


According to Marketwatch social interest is only lukewarm for Verint’s business intelligence solutions but they still rate the company “bullish”. Those in the know are backing Verint’s ability to manage its ever changing market too, awarding honors for leadership and customer centricity as well as a spot on KMWorld’s list of 100 Companies That Matter in Knowledge Management.

Two of TMC’s (News - Alert) own publications recognized Verint with 2014 Product of the Year awards for solutions that provide high level visibility and insight into data, both on the customer desk and in the back office. CUSTOMER magazine bestowed the Product of the Year award for Verint’s Workforce Optimization for Back Office Operations which improves customer resource management by analyzing current processes.

Verint’s Quality Monitoring software earned Product of the Year as kind of a “body of work” award from Internet Telephony (News - Alert) magazine, recognizing the company in general for continued excellence and commitment to innovation.

And, that innovation may be what makes Verint a strong performer in the long run as it pushes forward into growing fields like intelligent video analytics, which auto-monitors video feeds for ranges of behavior of object descriptors. It’s just one example of something that wasn’t even considered outside of top-secret intelligence agencies ten years ago but, which could become standard operations in the call center in the next five.  Retail services have already been pushing the trend for a few years to better analyze customer behavior.  The companies that can provide the fastest, and best, solution to market are the ones that will capitalize on these emerging niches in business intelligence.

Of course nobody can predict the stock market and a wide variety of factors play into any corporations share history, but with performance like Verint has had the past few years – and certainly these past few months – it may be a good time to start paying attention. The review call kicks off at 4:30pm Eastern on June 4.
