Sage CRM Solutions Pilots Cloud Computing Edition of SalesLogix CRM Suite

Sage CRM Solutions, part of The Sage Group plc, a business management software and services provider, is piloting a cloud computing edition of the Sage SalesLogix CRM suite for commercial availability in early 2010.

Joe Bergera, executive vice president and general manager of Sage CRM Solutions, said that the next wave of cloud computing will benefit customers by providing a highly distributed and flexible deployment model that shifts control of the service to their favor, rather than Software-as-a-Service, or “SaaS (News - Alert),” vendors, so they can better tailor their CRM experience in a way that optimally suits their business.

The cloud edition of Sage SalesLogixm using Amazon’s EC2, will offer business a multitude of things including data ownership, upgrade control, deployment, customization and buying flexibility.

Businesses will train ownership of their data and processes with full reusability and compatibility on-premises. This benefit, while not provided by most multi-tenant Saas CRM alternatives, allows users to revisit their data in-house, which is both time and cost effective.

By using the upgrade control option, businesses can choose when to trigger and upgrade to the latest cloud computing edition of Sage’s software system, rather than having an alternative SaaS vendor’s upgrade schedule. This way, users can manually decide when to upgrade the software, eliminating unwanted upgrades normally forced upon with automatic updates.

Deployment flexibility allows businesses to receive the benefits of a hosted, on-demand solution with the option and ease of migrating to an on-premise delployment if needs are altered within a specific company. In addition, on-promise SalesLogix customers can transition to the cloud edition if they choose to within the systems deployment flexibility.

Individual software users can customize their own unique sales, marketing and support proceeses with Sage’s customization flexibility, without the common customization restrictions of multi-tenant SaaS offerings.

Finally, with the software’s buying flexibility, companies can select a subscription purchasing option, in addition to a license option, and select a CRM option that best fits the company’s business model and financial aspirations.

Yacov Wrocherinsky, founder and chief executive officer of Infinity Info Systems, said that a best-of-breed application and combined platform deployment options system had not been available in the on-demand CRM market, but the flexibility of Sage’s SalesLogix in the cloud will benefit organizations that are striving for an on-demand CRM system.

In July, Sage made its ERPX3 product, designed for deployment and operation over the Internet, available to users in Australia and New Zealand. And, with Sage’s recent success, the company seems prime to expanding and exploring its systems, benefitting companies and users alike in the telecom industry.

Sage will be demonstrating Sage SalesLogix in the cloud this week at the Gartner (News - Alert) CRM Summit in Scottsdale, Ariz.
