When it comes to 4G Mobile Backhaul, Accedian Networks (News - Alert) knows a thing or two about the space. The company is so successful and experienced in the Carrier Ethernet and mobile backhaul industry that it took home two prestigious awards in Deloitte’s annual ranking, the Deloitte (News - Alert) Fast50 and Fast500 last week.
The Deloitte Fast50 and Fast500, announced at gala ceremonies in major cities across Canada and North America, ranks the fastest-growing technology companies according to revenue growth within the last five years.
Accedian Networks was named the top fastest growing company in Canada by Deloitte based on its 50,136 percent fiscal year revenue growth from 2006-2010. The company ranked first on the Technology Fast 50 in Canada and second on the Technology Fast 500 in North America. Accedian was also recognized with Deloitte's Telecom Leadership Award.
Accedian is the No. 1 provider of High Performance Service Assurance solutions for Carrier Ethernet backhaul networks in North America with an installed base of over 75,000 cell sites, and 90,000 platforms sold worldwide.
According to the company, with 140 employees worldwide, Accedian has outgrown its current facility in St. Laurent and just moved across the Trans-Canada Highway to a new building in Technoparc Montreal -- which is double the size of its previous facility. The company plans to add 40 employees by the end of the year.
“This recognition is another exciting milestone for Accedian, and we’re extremely honored to be included on both these prestigious lists,” said Patrick Ostiguy (News - Alert), president and CEO of Accedian Networks. “As a company we have remained focused on providing operators and service providers with solutions to help them fully optimize the performance of their Carrier Ethernet backhaul networks. Our growth is a reflection of this focus, exceptionally strong leadership from our executive team, and the dedication, insatiable desire to innovate, and ingenuity of a talented pool of employees.”
Accedian Networks was created from Ostiguy’s basement in 2004 and now boasts a revenue growth of 50,136 percent. According to Ostiguy, Accedian has been profitable since 2009, and has raised a total of $30 million in venture capital and private equity funding. The company is on track for an initial public offering in several markets within two years.
Not to go unnoticed, earlier this month, Ostiguy was also named as Ernst & Young’s 2011 Quebec Entrepreneur of the Year in the Technology Solutions (News - Alert) category.
