Oracle (News - Alert), a provider of appliance deployment solutions, has recently deployed a new suite of appliances, which includes SPARC T4 servers that can be seamlessly integrated with Oracle Solaris.
A broad range of customers in the communications industry including Motorola (News - Alert) Solutions, Portugal Telecom, Qualcomm, SkyOnline, Telefonica de Espana, United Telephone Mutual Aid Corporation and Ziggo BV have already implemented Sparc T4 servers with Oracle Solaris.
Officials said that SPARC T4 servers running Oracle Solaris deliver world record performance on a highly scalable, secure and integrated platform optimized for enterprise software. These appliance deployment solutions are engineered with Oracle's complete software stack to enable customers to consolidate multiple database and application tiers onto a single server.
This solution is also ideal for large scale applications, enterprise-wide consolidation and database projects that require extreme reliability, availability and security.
In a press release, Bhaskar Gorti, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Communications said, "Oracle's SPARC Solaris servers have a long track record of outstanding performance, scalability and versatility in the communications industry." "Our SPARC T4 servers are seeing solid traction among leaders in the communications industry and it's clear that our hardware and software engineered together is providing the platform of choice as customers look to develop next generation services and deploy in the cloud."
In addition, the company has also introduced its NEBS Level 3 certified Netra SPARC T4 servers to cater to the needs of the communications industry. They are considered ideal for next-generation telecommunications and provide the performance, scalability and efficiency required for 4G network infrastructures and cloud-based deployments.
Company officials said that the complete portfolio of technology for the communications industry, including its SPARC T4 and Netra SPARC T4 servers, will be featured at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which is taking place from February 27 - March 1.
