Appliance Deployment: Radisys and Fujitsu Expand Partnership

By Deepika Mala, TMCnet Contributor

Recently, Radisys, a provider of embedded wireless infrastructure solutions as well as a technology partner of appliance deployment provider NEI (News - Alert), and Fujitsu, a provider of information and communication technology-based business solutions, revealed they will be strengthening their partnership.

The companies have had a relationship that spans six generations of Radisys AdvancedTCA (News - Alert) platform solutions and numerous successful network appliance deployments.

The current base platform of Fujitsu is comprised almost entirely of award-winning Radisys ATCA solutions and is now poised to migrate to Radisys' next-generation 40G ATCA platform, which is pre-integrated to help network equipment manufacturers deliver the highest performance for 4G/LTE (News - Alert) infrastructure.

Kazuhiko Ito, senior vice president, Network Solutions Business Unit, Fujitsu, said in a statement, "Throughout our nearly 10-year partnership, Radisys has provided us with top-quality, future-proof solutions for our unique carrier deployments, as well as unparalleled access to their ATCA experts."

Fujitsu (News - Alert), with the help of Radisys’ pre-integrated ATCA platforms and working closely with the company’s design engineers, has been able to evolve its base platform to ensure that its customers are receiving the capabilities they need at the quality they demand. Radisys has also provided Fujitsu with standards-based solutions that meet the stringent requirements of the Japanese mobile market.

A network service probe, an increasingly important part of controlling network services to increase overall network security, is one of the key capabilities that Fujitsu delivers on its ATCA platforms.

To continue to deploy innovative new appliances that expand on current capabilities and extend network availability, both the companies continue to collaborate by leveraging Fujitsu's expertise in high availability computing systems and Radisys' experience with pre-integrated ATCA platforms.

Keate Despain (News - Alert), vice president and general manager, Radisys, added, "This partnership is rooted in innovation, collaboration and a strong focus for providing market-leading solutions with a clear upgrade path for the future. With 175 wireless infrastructure customer wins and counting, Radisys is proud to be the solution provider of choice for Fujitsu."
