Liongate Capital Management, an investment management and research firm specializing in portfolios of hedge funds, recently revealed that it is ready to run its virtual infrastructure on Tintri’s data center. Tintri is touted as deploying purpose-built, VM-aware storage appliances.
According to a press release, the company has selected Tintri to support mission-critical applications including Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange, SQL Server, Active Directory, and SharePoint, among others, after evaluating a number of storage options.
Liongate is using Tritini to save its customers fromserver sprawl and platform dependencies. Previously, the company had employed a mix of traditional fiber channel and iSCSI block storage systems to support its virtual environment. But the Tintri VMstore appliance it will help Liongate to reduce storage performance issues and dramatically simplify storage management.
"The Tintri T540 storage appliance is a perfect fit for our virtual infrastructure," said Dustin Mommen, systems manager for Liongate Capital Management, in a statement. "It delivers the performance we need with ample room to spare for future growth in our virtual infrastructure. What's more, we have been able to drastically improve the level of insight we have into our virtual deployment for much more efficient troubleshooting."
In addition, Tintri offers remarkable, enhanced metrics with its appliances by allowing Liongate to monitor and troubleshoot performance on a per-VM basis.
Mommen added, “The performance of our existing storage simply could not keep up with the demands of our virtual infrastructure. At peak times, one busy application could bring the storage to its knees.”
Additionally, Tintri's VM-aware storage appliance provides flash performance while cutting down operating costs and increasing IT service delivery at disk prices with intuitive management specifically for VMs. The company’s virtual server has helped the companies like Digital Chocolate, iPass (News - Alert), and TIBCO to drive performance and achieve ROI in as little as 60 days.
