VideoPropulsion Deploys SamsungLYNK-based Appliance at Best Western in Texas

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

VideoPropulsion, a provider of HDTV, VoD, and IPTV (News - Alert) products, has successfully deployed the SamsungLYNK-enabled appliance at the Best Western hotel in Lytle, TX.

SamsungLYNK is content security mechanism introduced by Samsung (News - Alert) Electronics for the hospitality industry at the HITEC show in June. The appliance is deployed into select Samsung HDTVs.

“The revolutionary SamsungLYNK is another milestone in the evolution of Free-to-Guest HD programming for the hospitality industry,” said Tom Conley, co-founder and chief operating officer of Bulk TV & Internet, in a statement. “This product is going to better enable us to provide the best HD programming available, which guests have come to expect.”

The system at the Lytle location uses DIRECTV to deliver 24 channels of HDTV programming to guest rooms, allowing operators, integrators, and resellers to provide their customers in the hospitality and other commercial industries with an array of options to deliver Free-to-Guest (FTG) HD programming.

FloodGate systems are available to deliver up to 60 HD channels on COAX, IP, or mobile networks and support all approved industry standard content protection mechanisms. They also work with virtually any content source including satellite providers DIRECTV, DISH Network, and BellTV, as well as CableCard from most cable companies.

"We are pleased to announce the successful integration of SamsungLYNK content security across our entire line of new FloodGate 4000 Series Free-to-Guest appliances, said VideoPropulsions Chairman & CEO Carl Pick. “We value our partnership with Samsung in a continued effort to increase viewership quality and lower overall site cost."

In a related announcement, the company also said that it is expanding the FloodGate DTV hospitality headend systems by launching a new series of next-generation transcoding and mobile streaming appliances and PCIe cards for OEM applications powered by Zenverge ZN2000 content networking ICs.
