NEI Named in 'Boston Fast 50' List

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

NEI, a vendor of application platforms and lifecycle support services for software developers, OEMs and service providers, has been named one of the top 50 fastest-growing public companies in Massachusetts by the Boston Business Journal.

The list ranks the state's public companies by their revenue growth from 2007-2009. NEI posted revenue growth of 24.3 percent during the period. The publication also named NEI one of the top 150 public companies in the state, based on its most recent revenues.

NEI, according to the citation, has "built a global reputation for its technology expertise with turnkey application platforms, purpose-built appliances, a host of smart services, and global logistics."

Basically the company takes a comprehensive lifecycle approach to its design, using standard technologies to build custom tools backed by support staff and services. NEI's offerings are designed to "solve deployment challenges, accelerate time to market, reduce ownership costs, and increase customer competitiveness," company officials say.

Greg Shortell, president and CEO of NEI, said his company's ability to provide "a comprehensive range" of technology and deployment services has made NEI a "trusted partner of choice among market leaders, helping us fuel our growth."

Last week TMC's (News - Alert) Rajani Baburajan reportedthat NEI announced that New Zealand-based cyber security provider Endaceselected NEI as its hardware and customer logistics partner.

Endace provides high performance traffic analysis, latency measurement, network security and application acceleration solutions that capture, inspect and report on every single data packet up to 40Gb/s, company officials said.

As part of this announcement, TMCnet reported, "Endace uses NEI's Global Logistics and Rapid Responses and replacement services to enhance its network security products."

Endace has chosen NEI'sS-3000 R2 server as its primary packet capture and analysis appliance. S-3000 R2, according to company officials, provides maximum uptime at high network speeds.
