Provider of Internet and mobile cloud monitoring Keynote Systems has announced new versions of Keynote Application Perspective and Keynote Cloud Application Perspective.
The new versions set the gold standard for monitoring Web applications on both public and private cloud networks, according to company officials.
The updated cloud monitoring services provide the “state-of-the-art technology” for measuring and monitoring public and private cloud applications from the end user perspective, said company officials.
A comprehensive Web application monitoring solution, Keynote Application Perspective 6.0 delivers triple-verified accurate data and deep insights into the end user perspective, and is an ideal software-as-a-service solution (Saas) for high frequency Web application monitoring of rich sites.
Company officials said that it includes performance baseline capabilities, alerts fed to existing network management systems, quick triage and root cause analysis capabilities.
The new version of Application Perspective is now equipped with support for ‘Virtual Pages,’ a feature for separating out the performance of 3rd party content. This feature was available only in Keynote Transaction Perspective, a browser-based Web performance monitoring service.
‘Virtual Pages’ enables users of Application Perspective to track how third party content, such as ad banners, content delivery network (CDN) services and social widgets, impacts site performance, said company officials.
Moreover, the new version also comes with a DNS Override feature, which allows users to keep tabs on the performance of cloud providers. Giving an example, company officials said that DNS Override makes it easy to measure and monitor a CDN's performance.
Keynote Cloud Application Perspective, a portable on demand software agent, monitors Web application performance inside private clouds. Announced earlier in March, the updated service represents a brand-new way for companies to deploy Keynote’s performance monitoring behind the firewall and inside private clouds and networks by delivering SaaS (News - Alert)-based application monitoring for private clouds.
In addition to delivering easy application monitoring, Cloud Application Perspective also eliminates the hassle of buying, installing and managing storage, network connectivity and reporting software, said company officials. Also, the new version now includes a Web Services Scripting Wizard, which makes it easier to get started with scripting API transactions.
Vik Chaudhary, vice president of product management and corporate development at Keynote, said that by making it easy for development and operations teams to monitor the health of their critical APIs at key points in the digital value chain, Cloud Application Perspective addresses an emerging need for companies exchanging information in a private or hybrid cloud.
Additionally, the new version also provides a Smart Installer that makes it easy to install and configure Cloud Application Perspective to work in the private cloud. Company officials said that the installer checks for common network and configuration issues, and then provides comprehensive feedback on installation issues encountered so a technical resource can quickly resolve common issues.
Both Keynote Application Perspective 6.0 and the latest version of Keynote Cloud Application Perspective are expected be available at the end of June.
Recently, Keynote Systems (News - Alert) formed a partnership with PagerDuty to take advantage of PagerDuty’s advanced phone alerting tools for users of the MyKeynote portal.
