Telovations (News - Alert) Speech Assist recently received the 2011 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award from TMC. A cloud-based solution, Speech Assist brings important changes to business communications. Callers using the device just speak the name of the person who they want to speak with, and everyone's time is used more efficiently.
The device – designed for auto attendants – uses Lyrix technology. Speech recognition improves with the device’s smart recognition features, too. It was built on the BroadSoft (News - Alert) platform.
"With the increasing number of mobile workers, the ability to reach the person you would like to speak with, without having to type the name or extension on the key pad of your phone, is a huge advantage," Mark Swanson, Telovations CEO, explained in a company press release. "Being able to speak the name or extension decreases misdialed numbers and increases safety of callers who may be driving or walking while dialing."
It also improves employee productivity, the company said, and lets employees focus on more important tasks, according to the company statement. The company further explains that Speech Assist lets customers speak more easily with individual employees, entire departments, or provides callers hours of operation and product information. And Telovations’ cloud-based auto attendant lets customers consolidate multiple auto attendants and decreases the number of needed phone lines, the company adds in the press release.
"I am happy to grant Telovations with a Product of the Year Award. The editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY have verified that Speech Assist displays quality and innovation plus provides real needs in the marketplace," stated Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), CEO, TMC. "I would like to congratulate the entire team at Telovations for their commitment to advancing IP communication technologies."
