York Data Services has deployed Exinda’s 6760 Series WAN Optimization Appliance for bandwidth management.
YDS is a provider of business Internet services throughout Yorkshire, England. The company said it wanted to shape traffic among its customers, prioritize applications like voice over Internet protocol (VoIP). In addition, it wanted to improve its agility in troubleshooting and resolving network problems.
With the Exinda’s 6760 Series WAN Optimization Appliance, YDS expects to shape Internet traffic of customers, prioritize applications on its network, and troubleshoot network issues.
Company officials believe that the Exinda WAN Optimization appliance gives their team an “unprecedented control” over bandwidth management and visibility into network issues.
The Exinda appliance has enabled the company to easily prioritize traffic by application type to optimize bandwidth in the network, said Alastair Taylor, network manager at YDS, adding that the company can also use the appliance to quickly spot and resolve bandwidth management performance issues related to applications using too much bandwidth.
To the company, Exclusive Networks of South Yorkshire supplied the Exinda appliance. Thanks to the control enabled by the Exinda appliance, the company is able to offer high quality managed services such as VoIP.
Exinda is a global supplier of next generation WAN Optimization and Application Acceleration products.
Recently, the company announced appointment of Greg Veres as vice president of engineering at Exinda.
