Silver Peak (News - Alert), a leader in data center class WAN optimization, has brought an outdated WAN back to life, saving thousands of dollars annually for a global anti-aging enterprise through utilizing a bandwidth management solution.
Skin care and nutritional products leader Nu Skin said that with Silver Peak data center class WAN optimization in place, the company will be able to significantly cut costs as well as see where bandwidth is being used the most.
"We sought out a company who could provide an innovative solution for our increasing WAN bandwidth requirements," said Brian Crandall, global systems architect at Nu Skin, in a statement.
Crandall said that Silver Peak was the only vendor that could deliver private-line performance for the required applications over the company’s shared network. “Silver Peak's comprehensive capabilities and tight integration with EMC (News - Alert) was critical for us, and will allow us to save many thousands of dollars a year in WAN bandwidth costs alone," he added.
The reasons behind Nu Skin selected Silver Peak’s solution included the fact that the company offers high scalability, ease-of-use and the unique ability to optimize all traffic over lower-cost shared WAN infrastructures.
Officials with Silver Peak said that Nu Skin also benefits from Silver Peak's Global Management System (GMS (News - Alert)), which simplifies administrative tasks for managing a global installation while providing granular visibility into the distributed WAN infrastructure.
Back in October, TMCnet had the news that Silver Peak Systems had announced that Commtech Distribution, a IT distributor in Ireland, will distribute the entire portfolio of Silver Peak data center class wide area network (WAN) optimization appliances to resellers across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Commtech brings a wide array of expertise to Silver Peak in developing the channel market in both these locations. The company has a strong installed base of resellers that have adopted the market's leading storage platform, and are expected to do the same with the industry's leading data center class WAN optimization solution.
