Exciting news has just emerged for those who live in remote areas and still want the high-speed Internet access that many take for granted; Gunnison Telephone Company, a major provider of telecommunication services throughout Utah, as has been the case for over 100 years now, will be bringing in the Actelis (News - Alert) Broadband Accelerator to provide a major increase to the total of available bandwidth in the system.
Gunnison's use of the Actelis Broadband Accelerator will, at last report, boost the total bandwidth available by more than triple its former count, allowing subscribers access to a slate of new services that were formerly unavailable. One customer, for example, was looking to bring in remote monitoring functionality for a property and assets, but was unable to as the available bandwidth wouldn't support streaming video. With Gunnison's new upgrade, however, the bandwidth available is more than sufficient, and now, that customer can monitor the plant and its assets via remote.
Actelis' Broadband Accelerator boosts rates by 100 percent on typical loops, and can boost remote loops by as much as 400 percent, providing plenty of added utility for users. Moreover, an Actelis system can be installed in as little as 10 minutes, making it easy to put that extra bandwidth into play for customers, and do so over an existing copper network by working with ADSL services. Gunnison's Scott Bartholomew had high praise for Actelis' response rates, saying that he would "strongly recommend Actelis" for those companies looking to get more bandwidth to more customers "regardless of distance from the central office".
At a time when more businesses--and more private consumers --are demanding more bandwidth to get access to the services they both want and need, some companies are looking to restrict that access, by capping total access or charging higher prices for greater access. Other companies, like Gunnison, are looking to provide more to their customers, as well as gain access to markets that were formerly unavailable due to their location and the intense difficulty involved in adding infrastructure to reach them.
It's a safe bet that companies like Gunnison, who are trying to find ways to get their customers what they want, will do better in the long run than companies who are trying to find ways to make their customers want less. As to which viewpoint will be the ultimate success, only time will tell, but until then companies like Gunnison will be turning to companies like Actelis in a bid to get more bandwidth to more places, and satisfy more customers.
