The demand for access to broadband solutions continues to expand as high speed capacity plays a greater role in the success of businesses worldwide. For carriers to meet this growing demand, however, they must be able to build out the infrastructure with the right solutions. To meet this need, Actelis (News - Alert) offers its EFM Repeaters.
As captured on this Actelis page, the XR239 EFM Repeaters are in their sixth generation. Deployed with Ethernet over copper, the company’s repeaters are the first standards-based in the market. According to Actelis, they are also the most widely deployed 2-pair repeaters for EFM (Ethernet in the First Mile) 2Base-TL.
These repeaters can be easily linked together and used to extend the current reach of a carrier’s Ethernet over copper. In fact, EFM Repeaters can expand broadband solutions by extending the reach of high-capacity Ethernet to ensure coverage of more than 98 percent of loop lengths. With the company’s EFMPlus technology, advanced signal processing ensures the greatest reach, rate and reliability in performance of the voice- grade copper cabling.
EFM services are extended through the regeneration of the signal between the carrier’s central office and the customer’s premises. XR239 EFM Repeaters will support even higher rates by extending the distance to more than 9.5 miles. This extension enables more than 10Mbps per pair, allowing for more value in each deployment.
Available in an environmentally hardened case, Actelis’ repeaters are designed for deployment indoors or in outside plants, supporting a variety of field installations. When deployed in cabinets, on poles or building mounts, the repeaters are line-powered with the use of a Power Feeding Unit (PFU) remote that is directly connected to an Actelis ML230 or ML2300 aggregation platform, or the ML600 EAD, eliminating the need for additional environmental or electrical requirements.
In a nutshell, carriers can extend their reach in the market to enable broadband solutions with the help of Actelis EFM Repeaters. The company’s repeaters will perform in IEEE (News - Alert) 802.3ah EFM 2 Base-TL systems; will offer more than 98 percent of loop lengths; will extend the reach of service more than 25 miles; will ensure optimal performance over bonded EFM copper pairs; are environmentally hardened; and will forward EFM OAM messages transparently between CCPE and CO equipment.
As the performance and availability of the service is just as important as access to broadband solutions, the demand for infrastructure systems that support reach reliability will continue to grow. Actelis is demonstrating its value in the market with its EFM Repeaters. As more pressure is put on carriers and their supported networks, those able to sustain for the long-term will dominate the market.
