AOTMP announced the launch of its 2011 State of the Industry Report which is expected to serve as a guide to the telecom management industry.

In a release Timothy C. Colwell, senior vice president of global information management at AOTMP said, “Many organizations perceive that technology and services are created equal and often make purchasing decisions based primarily on price. Price compression in the market frequently results in suppliers limiting the scope of their offerings to meet pricing demands.”

“This effect can result in service performance below client expectations and leave them dissatisfied. Our enterprise-based customer satisfaction research monitors these types of activities,” Colwell added.

AOTMP is a telecom management resource for both enterprises and telecom expense management (TEM) and wireless mobility management (WMM) suppliers. The new report encompasses research-based insight into the status of the telecom management industry. It also throws light on the key trends that affect the marketplace, and provides a listing of TEM and WMM suppliers based on enterprise client satisfaction.

The report identifies the absence of differentiation amongst TEM and WMM supplier offerings. As most services are identical, competition based on price has become the norm whereas capabilities and performance satisfaction are not given much importance by suppliers.

AOTMP has given insights into 22 TEM and WMM suppliers in the report based on feedback provided by more than 1,066 professionals across 644 companies. These suppliers have been rated based on enterprise client satisfaction, revealed analysts.

Officials added that AOTMP possesses details regarding more than 100 TEM and WMM suppliers. However it has included 22 organizations in the report including Advantix Solutions Group, Amtel, Asentinel, Avalon Global Solutions, Cass Information Systems, Comview and MDSL (News - Alert). The 2011 State of the Industry Report also reveals that companies are at risk due to lack of mobile device management protocols. Also more and more wireless applications are being deployed and there is greater demand for user support and maintenance. Invoice error recovery practices need improvement since many companies are experiencing increased incidences of waste.
