Zuora (News - Alert), a leader in subscription billing, is planning to establish local presence in London in order to support growing customer base throughout Europe. With ten new staff on-board, the London office will serve as the base for European Operations. This step will ensure Zuora global presence with operations in the U.S., Asia and Europe. Zuora's European customers include verticals such as telecom, media and more, and provide cloud and software-as-a-service solutions.
Apart from the global expansion move, Zuora leadership position was strengthened by the $1 billion contracted subscription revenue. This was also in line with the Gartner’s SaaS (News - Alert) billing industry revenue estimate of $7.5 billion in 2009. Zuora record-time successful customer deployments include implementation of Open Range's complex new telecom billing platform within 100 days. The Open Range system was integrated with seven different platforms so as to enable easy price change across 17 customer communities. In partnership with NetSuite (News - Alert), Zuora will develop and offer combined solutions to price, meter and bill for subscription and usage based products.
Several European Companies such as SocialGo, London; IC&S, Netherlands; Moviestorm, United Kingdom and Reed Business Information, London praised Zuora's move to support customers with local presence. Eelco van Beek, the CEO at IC&S commented, “Many U.S.-based companies take years to develop a European office. Zuora's investment in serving the region will pay off not only for Zuora but its customers as well.” IC&S serves as the largest beverage company and the largest insurance company in Europe. Zuora’s partners and system integrator are also excited about the market opportunity and applauded Zuora’s European extension. Looking forward to working together with Zuora, Keao Caindec, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer at OpSource (News - Alert) said, “OpSource and Zuora have partnered to deliver joint solutions to SaaS ISVs. Our Managed Hosting customers around the world are able to leverage Zuora's billing platform to launch new applications or campaigns quickly and scale.”
According to Shawn Price, Zuora’s president, there is an unprecedented demand from European SaaS, media, cloud and telecom providers and are delighted to partner with European innovative customers who are driving the global subscription economy. Dennis Pombriant of Beagle Research believes this is the perfect time for Zuora to leverage European market growth in cloud computing and software as a service.
