ADTRAN (News
- Alert), a provider of next-generation networking solutions, has formed a partnership with Integra Telecom, a provider of business-grade networking, communications and cloud solutions, to deliver business Ethernet services across Integra’s network.
Integra has selected ADTRAN Total Access 5000 to bring Ethernet Services to nearly 300 central offices using Ethernet over TDM (EoTDM) technology.
ADTRAN Total Access 5000 enables the company to extend Ethernet service to businesses beyond the limited reach of alternative DSL copper products. As a result, Integra can offer carrier-grade business Ethernet services to businesses throughout its service territory regardless of their proximity to fiber or copper DSL.
"Integra's ability to extend a network-wide deployment for end-to-end Ethernet Services using MEF (News - Alert) certified solutions brings a great deal of value to our customer base," said Craig Heidgerken, vice president of engineering at Integra Telecom, in a statement.
"Our customers are looking for private, carrier-grade Ethernet access to all of their locations--regardless of whether they reside in a downtown area, in the suburbs, or a more remote location,” Heidgerken added. “With the added deployment flexibility of the ADTRAN solution, we can now exceed our customers' expectations for high-bandwidth access."
ADTRAN platform supports Ethernet over direct fiber, optical wavelengths (C/DWDM), copper (e.SHDSL, ADSL2+, VDSL2), SONET, and TDM (DS1/E1, DS3). Integra's extensive fiber- and copper-based network infrastructure, combined with the multi-service access capabilities of the Total Access 5000, enables the carrier to serve more customers faster, while the common platform allows Integra to scale its growing network more easily.
"Time to market and service availability are so important for service providers like Integra who are committed to accelerating the adoption of world-class Ethernet service," said Meggin Sawyer, regional vice president of sales, service providers, ADTRAN, in a statement.
"The operational simplicity of the Total Access 5000 enables Integra to easily align with the multiple vertical markets who are rapidly upgrading to carrier-grade Ethernet service in order to achieve specific IT objectives," Sawyer added.
ADTRAN recently announced that TMC, a global integrated media company, has named ADTRAN's NetVanta 1335 Multiservice Access Router as a recipient of the 2011 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award presented by INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
