With the consumer's insatiable demand for mobile solutions increasing every day, networks are being pushed to the hilt and service providers and mobile operators are being constantly challenged to provide the best possible experience to their subscribers.

Accedian Networks (News - Alert) claims to make this task much easier for them with the just-released version 5.5 software, embedded in its award winning MetroNID and MetroNODE 10GE solutions, delivery of innovative Y.1564 service turn-up tool set and TWAMP-Lite interoperability, according to company officials.

The MetroNODE 10GE platform claims to deliver performance with precision even when it comes to demanding, high-density applications. Traffic loads that would typically choke other network elements are handled rather competently, providing the most accurate, lowest delay and highest capacity service assurance capabilities.

MetroNID units help optimize and accelerate services, protect core network capacity and deliver best-in-class QoS end-to-end.

Together, the solutions have upped the level for service turn-up. Also, the ability to perform Y.1564 testing with multiple simultaneous flows from a single device and the addition of TWAMP-Lite as a second Layer 3 testing option have provided greater flexibility to operators, allowing them to test different services at the same time and monitor performance also.

While these solutions are expected to help save time, money and OPEX (News - Alert), deliver total visibility and control for any 10GbE network infrastructure, monitor and bridge diverse networks and deliver performance monitoring visibility, officials noted that they will also help cement Accedian's leadership position in the Ethernet market.

Accedian Networks recently sold 100,000 units of its network demarcation units. These sales were worldwide and sent around the globe to companies and service providers, making for a major milestone for Accedian Networks. The company is a provider of High Performance Service Assurance solutions, which provide IP networks and carrier Ethernet services to providers and companies.
