Webiplex Unveils Latest Business Process Management Platform for Mobile Devices

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Webiplex, a provider of DocuPeak, a cloud-based business process automation and document management platform, announced that its latest DocuPeak business process management (BPM) platform release contains a suite of new features for mobile devices.

Delivered via web app technology, these enhancements work natively on both Android (News - Alert) and iOS platforms. The new feature set allows the mobile worker to fill-out DocuPeak forms via an iPad or tablet-sized device, besides retrieving documents from DocuPeak’s document repository.

“We are not just adding mobile support with the new mobile features, we are specifically targeting the mobile platform and its unique use in a business process workflow,” said Rob Rennie, founder and CTO of Webiplex, in a statement. “Mobile-unique features such as geo-location and media input can be added to forms and business process rules defined based upon them.”

The City of Inglewood, Calif., is one of the early adopters of this new technology.

“With the ever-increasing demands for information on the go, we see mobilization of our documents and data as a pure necessity to maintain productivity. As such, iPads and tablet-based PCs are the tools we will leverage going forward as we access our DocuPeak solution citywide,” said Michael D. Falkow, assistant city manager for the City of Inglewood.

The features bring the entire DocuPeak interface to the iPad or tablet. Application can be defined within the full Application Studio via the mobile tablet devices as well. For the applications administrator on the go, the ability to modify or monitor a DocuPeak application brings flexibility and time-saving benefits.

Recently, Webiplex announced the release of the DocuPeak Connector for Sharp (News - Alert) OSA-enabled MFPs. The connector allows for the scanning and indexing of documents right from the Sharp OSA-enabled MFP panel.
