American automobile manufacturer, General Motors (News - Alert) (GM), has started the implementation of the AuraPortal BPM Process Management Suite at its Ecuador plant.

Working with Business Process Management BPMS indicates that a rapidly increasing number of companies and organizations are adopting BPMS tools to preserve their competitiveness in the face of companies that are already working with it.

This is because overall costs are reduced in the range of 20 to 50 percent and return on investment (ROI) may reach a value as high as 400 percent, apart from the superior potency and operational flexibility contributed by BPMS.

The deployment of AuraPortal BPM software is part of the $45-million investment plan announced in April by the firm's president for South America, Jaime Ardila. The company plans to carry this plan forward this year at their Ecuador plant. 

Extending the BPM across the entire enterprise, the implementation methodology calls to start with the creation and immediate launch of one important process.

The strategic Part Replenishment and Localization process was selected for this first implementation, which consists of the intervention of various departments (including: Purchasing, Engineering, Material Administration, Logistics and Finance), and features Bids Management, Quality Control, Document Management, etc.
