Gorilla Logic announced the launch of a new mobile app testing cloud called CloudMonkey. Gorilla Logic is a technology services firm specializing in enterprise app delivery for mobile and Web.

The company is known for its MonkeyTalk open-source automated testing tool created for native, hybrid, mobile and Web applications. Its engineering and management consultants design, build, deploy, test and manage complex enterprise systems for media, financial services, retail, medicine, government, aerospace and transportation organizations.

Stu Stern, CEO at Gorilla Logic said, “With MonkeyTalk and CloudMonkey, you can record a single test and play it back across a matrix of device configurations, automating the complexity that makes mobile app testing so painful.”

Developers are keen to deliver apps that are optimized for different devices and platforms. CloudMonkey serves as a testing cloud, allowing developers to run MonkeyTalk scripts on a full range of Android (News - Alert) Emulators, each configured to mirror the OS and display configurations of major Android devices.

CloudMonkey instantly loads the application across dozens of emulators, runs the test suites, and delivers reports and screenshots into the developer’s inbox conveniently. Users can submit test jobs from MonkeyTalk IDE or continuous integration servers like Jenkins; run on every version of Android and test at various screen sizes and display resolutions.

Developers will also receive reports summarizing all test results across emulators, including screenshots of errors. The screenshot matrix easily reports and helps identify display irregularities on particular display configurations.

Android app developers can leverage CloudMonkey to focus on testing and quality as recommended by Google (News - Alert) in its “checklist” release. CloudMonkey versions that support iOS, physical devices, Web and Flex testing are also in the pipeline, added officials.

Also Gorilla Logic’s Continuous QA Cloud, a cloud-based Quality-as-a-Service (QaaS) offering, can automate and streamline mobile app testing, enabling developers to realize enhanced quality and time-to-market.
