Eli Lilly and Company Selects Cognizant Services

Eli Lilly and Company, an innovation-driven pharmaceutical company, has selected Cognizant’s range of solutions to make its U.S. sales and marketing operations more effective, Cognizant (News - Alert) has announced in a press release.


Cognizant guides healthcare organizations toward more efficient, effective, innovative and virtualized business models. The company offers the deep strategic capabilities of a top multinational consultancy, with the cost advantages of a best-in-class outsourcer.

The solutions provided by Cognizant in this contract include commercial analytics, sales force planning, sales incentive compensation, customer relationship management, business reporting, data warehousing, and state compliance reporting using a consumption-based service delivery model called Business Process as a Service (BPaaS). The company will combine cloud-based IT infrastructure, Cognizant's proprietary software applications and other intellectual property for commercial operations as part of the BPaaS model.

Now, a key component of Lilly's transformation strategy can achieve increased collaboration in a globally networked model with the help of Cognizant's solution. With this, the company now aims to become the most customer-focused pharmaceutical company in the U.S. market. The company would like to concentrate on its own focus on understanding and exceeding our customers' needs by collaborating with the industry leader in commercial operations service delivery.

In August 2010, the company achieved the top clients satisfaction rankings in the 2009-10 Europe ITO Service Provider Performance and Satisfaction study carried out by EquaTerra (News - Alert), a well known provider of expert advisory services in information technology and business process transformation. 25 service providers were evaluated by the study based on an assessment of more than 2,000 client engagements and feedback of the CFOs, CIOs or their direct reports.
