Office Furniture Biz Offers Chair Discomfort Relief

By Amanda Ciccatelli, TMCnet Web Editor

Office chairs are an important piece of furniture for the employees and employers alike. Apart from the usual performance and productivity of employees, these days, employers and managers are also concerned about the overall health of employees.

Now, they are focusing more on investing in ergonomic and comfortable office chairs as well as other furniture in the professional workspace, but working professionals who sit at uncomfortable office chairs are frustrated with furniture companies that promise to make 'fully adjustable' office chairs that don’t live up to expectations.

Back pain caused by ill-fitted chairs is a common problem across the globe. A National Institute of Health study measured Greek workers experiencing chronic lower back pain, and found that 61.6 percent of workers suffered chronic lower back pain. According to the Herman Miller (News - Alert) Research Group, in the U.S. back pain is the most expensive ($50 billion/yr.) injury and frequent (31 percent) disorder among office workers.

One company, Office Furniture Biz, says it has the answer to this problem, providing a practical approach to relieve workers' discomfort. For more than 20 years, Office Furniture Biz has been supplying office furniture to designers, businesses and individual consumers with a range of chairs, tables, and office furniture equipment using 200 different lines of furniture.

"Your office chair is something you are in contact with everyday and use multiple hours a day. If used incorrectly it can cause major problems, and that's where we come in," said Jackson Burgess, owner of Office Furniture Biz, in a statement. "But what's interesting: the chair itself isn't a pain in the back; not knowing how to adjust the office chairs - that's the problem."

Burgess and Office Furniture Biz decided to provide a phone hotline for this very problem. “We have a dedicated line that, if over-filled, rings directly to me. We're different. Our customers' backs hurt right now and we have the 'Right Now' answer to help their back problem: Adjustment instructions over the phone!"
