Lift'n Buddy Half Back Promotes Ergonomics

By Amanda Ciccatelli, TMCnet Web Editor

Every day, we lug our laptops into the office to sit in unhealthy positions, in uncomfortable chairs, at awkward heights, for at least nine hours. Specifically, doing certain tasks over and over again can cause stress on our bodies in a variety of ways such as cause back injuries.

The best ways to limit back injury in the workplace are to modify repeated tasks, avoid over lifting, limit stresses on employees back, and to lift properly, according to the Mayo Clinic. A great way to prevent excessive stress on the back and repeated lifting movements is by using a mechanical lifting device.

For instance, the Lift’n Buddy Half Back, is a device that promotes ergonomics in the office. It is a mobile lifting device that combines a standard two-wheeler's durability and functionality with automatic lifting and lowering capabilities. It can provide a mobile solution to lifting heavy loads of any form, limiting back injuries in the workplace, resulting in a significant improvement in productivity. Specifically, it provides repeated lifting cycles to limit repetitive stress on the employee with a lift capacity up to 500 lbs.

Lift’n Buddy was designed with ergonomics and safety in mind for any moving and lifting job. The device is made from durable, lightweight, extruded aluminum to help companies avoid the exposure of employee injury, litigation and workers’ compensation claims. Today, the Lift'n Buddy is the lightest model and comes standard with a reliable Electrak 10 actuator that is quicker and quieter.

Recently, Lift’n Buddy was the recipient of the 2012 Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Awards for Technology Design as well as the Edison Award.
