Douglas Coupland has launch a new collection of furniture designs – The Douglas Coupland for SwitzerCultCreative.
To this end, the prominent writer and visual artist has formed an alliance with Vancouver-based SwitzerCultCreative.
This newly announced luxury design collective was unveiled last week at Toronto's Interior Design Show (IDS 13), and consists of a desk, chair, lamp and bookshelves.
Those interested in products from this suite can do so from SwitzerCultCreative, which consists of brother and sister, Renee and Allan Switzer, holding over five decades of experience crafting select and modern furniture designs.
SwitzerCultCreative holds the exclusive worldwide license to market and supply this range of products.
Coupland is inspired by an escritoire and does not prefer the traditional desk. He has now introduced the Bento Box (News - Alert) Escritoire and the special edition Paint Box Escritoire desks, and believes these will encourage the thought process.
The new collection includes a Writer's Seat that fits neatly beneath Bento Box Escritoire and the special edition Paint Box Escritoire desks.
Known to be very ergonomic, the Writer's Seat is available in five different colors, and is ideal for writing or just browsing the Internet.
The Douglas Coupland for SwitzerCultCreative collection also includes Ryoan-ji Lamps and Osaka Bookshelves.
Inspired by Japanese culture, Ryoan-ji Lamps include a floor lamp and a desk lamp, with shades made with wire frames wrapped with a translucent shoji-type material.
Osaka Bookshelves are simple in style and can be arranged in several configurations.
“The 'Douglas Coupland for SwitzerCultCreative' collection is a reflection of everything I use daily," said Coupland. "These are pieces that will unleash creativity, dopamine, high style and timelessness into their user's world.”
Recently, OfficeYes.com introduced a new range of ergonomic office furniture as well.
