Philips New Brilliance LCD Monitor with ErgoSensor to Hit the Market

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

In the current working environment, sitting at a computer all day and typing repetitiously causes nagging pains that can be felt on a daily basis. Known as muscular-skeletal disorders (MSD), these pains can lead to permanent muscle, tendon and nerve damage.

Since most people who work at a computer tend to stay in one position for hours upon hours, muscles can become fatigued, which can have damaging long-term effects, leading to conditions like arthritis and carpel tunnel.

Most companies understand that the health and wellbeing of desk workers is very important, which is why, MMD, a technology company and brand license partner for Philips (News - Alert) Monitors, has rolled out the new 24-inch ErgoSensor display designed to promote a healthy life style.

The new display comes with variety of options such as an adjustable height and swivel and tiltable base, enabling users to adjust both the height and angle of the display to the right level.

These exclusive features help users to reduce eye fatigue and neck pain. What’s more, the display’s AMVA LED technology brings wide-view super-high contrast for vivid images.

The speciality of the ErgoSensor technology is that it can detect the position of the user’s face and head angle, measure the distance between the user’s eyes and the monitor, and make recommendations as to how users should adjust their posture or correct their distance from the screen. It also keeps a note about the time spent at the screen and reminds people about the much needed break.

“The new 24-inch ErgoSensor display testifies to MMD’s continued commitment to workplace ergonomics,” explains Thomas Schade, vice president at MMD. “As the study by MMD shows, there is much room for improvement in how offices are equipped to maintain health and wellbeing, and it’s something we take very seriously. Better ergonomics in the office also pays off in terms of greater productivity: there’s no room in modern work environments for work-related injury and diminished efficiency. An early investment in the right ergonomic equipment is soon reflected in the bottom line.”

The new Philips 241P4QRYES 24-inch Brilliance LCD monitor with ErgoSensor will be available in the first quarter of year 2014 across the Middle East region.
