Verizon Enterprise Solutions has partnered with Virtual Hold Technology (News - Alert) to introduce a service that helps users to skip the wait, hang up and receive a call back from a customer service representative.

Known as Voice Call Back-this new service is expected to free users from trying to reach a customer service representative than having to endure a seemingly endless wait on hold. Through this service callers hear a recording, which notifies them of the estimated wait time during busy calling times. Callers are also given the option to receive a call back from a representative at a time and phone number they select. The companies claim that the service has a successful reconnection rate of more 90 percent.

"We know that callers are less inclined to complain about the wait when it's on their own terms," said Mike Palmer, vice president of marketing for Verizon (News - Alert) Enterprise Solutions. "This advancement to our contact center services platform will help our customers improve service delivery for their customers -- and transform their business by providing a better overall customer experience."

Voice Call Back leverages advanced software from Virtual Hold Technology and is an enhancement to Verizon's cloud-based Hosted Interactive Voice platform in the company's Contact Center Services portfolio.

The new service is ideal for organizations with call centers that aim to achieve higher customer satisfaction and cost management. One federal agency is already using Voice Call Back and helping it to manage about 2 million inquiries each month to improve customer response and reduce costs.

Verizon was in news earlier this year for announcing that its FiOS (News - Alert) TV service is offering Telemundo HD in Washington metro area.
