The office communications server market is one that offers significant opportunity, especially for
Zeacom. To explore the company’s outlook into this emerging technology and activities since ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2009, TMCnet’s Erin Harrison sat down with John De Los Reyes vice president, support and services, Zeacom at ITEXPO East 2010.
Zeacom (News - Alert), a provider of unified communications solutions for the small- to medium- sized business market, recently
announced the availability of the Zeacom Gateway for Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Communications Server.
This OCS is geared for the SMB that has deployed the Zeacom Communications Center, but desires certain unified communications features or capabilities delivered through Microsoft OCS.
Since the L.A. show in 2009, Zeacom has actually been busy doubling its support staff in all major markets in order to deliver the optimal customer support, while continuing to improve upon current technologies. With the opportunities for OCS, Zeacom is excited to embrace the market in the New Year.
“OCS has been a slow adoption in general,” said De Los Reyes, “but we feel it will strengthen in the next year, especially with the emergence of Exchange 2010. We have strong story with OCS already and will get even stronger this year.”
Zeacom also delivers value for those companies seeking to bridge OCS with their PBX (News - Alert). De Los Reyes highlighted that Zeacom is switch agnostic and therefore can act as a bridge between the PBX and OCS to ensure customers can leverage their existing investments.
One of Zeacom’s greatest strengths is to be able to tell the Microsoft story in leveraging its strength in the market. Its sales force can speak the Microsoft language and from a technical perspective, assist with the implementation to deliver a true plug and play solution.
When asked about the current economy challenges and how Zeacom has weathered the storm of 2009, De Los Reyes highlighted that the company actually performed very strong. They are in a unique position of being able to save people money and therefore, can drive demand. “We are in a very strong position as we are peaking through the clouds of the current climate,” he said.
As for ITEXPO East, Zeacom set out to take a look at what they can do for other companies, especially those seeking to adopt new technologies offered by Zeacom by way of implementation or as a value reseller.
Zeacom announced earlier this month that the latest version of its flagship product, Zeacom Communications Center V5.0 SP4, is now certified interoperable with Cisco Unified Communication Manager 7.1.2.
