OpenSpan, which sells user process management software, has announced a partnership with GMT Corporation, designed to let GMT promote and market OpenSpan (News - Alert) products worldwide, OpenSpan officials say, “in combination with GMT's workforce management and performance optimization” products.
The OpenSpan products are used to complement a business process improvement strategy letting enterprises monitor “exactly what users do in virtually any application,” company officials say, as well as “analyze inefficiencies and compliance risks, and automate manual processes to save both time and money.”
Together, OpenSpan officials say, “GMT and OpenSpan will provide call center professionals with a comprehensive set of tools to perform their job and increase customer satisfaction.”
In August TMC’s (News - Alert) Brendan Read reported that “Solutions that help organizations and employees get the most of their applications deliver powerful ROI for that reason. These tools analyze how users utilize their applications and in doing so identify and report on bottlenecks that lead to reduced productivity and in some cases software becoming shelfware because employees won’t touch them.”
The occasion was the release of OpenSpan Release 4.5, redeveloped for both Microsoft (News - Alert) Visual Studio and non-Microsoft Visual Studio developers, Read says: “Visual Studio developers can now leverage their existing Microsoft developer tools to rapidly create and distribute OpenSpan projects from within Visual Studio. The release additionally offers support for Microsoft's Windows 7 operating environment.”
The OpenSpan Developer Community includes online training, forums, discussion boards and many code samples demonstrating the new Release 4.5 features, Read noted.
GMT sells workforce management and performance products to help companies improve customer service and sales while decreasing labor expenses. A popular call center product is GMT Planet for workforce and performance management.
"This partnership with GMT Corporation illustrates OpenSpan's growing momentum in the competitive enterprise application monitoring market," said Eric Musser, CEO for OpenSpan. "Today it is becoming increasingly essential for more and more enterprises to determine how users are interacting with critical business applications."
