Pipkins (News - Alert), Inc., one of the leading providers of workforce management software and services to the call center industry, recently announced that it is now providing its hosted customers with a server that is powered by Fusion-io (News - Alert). The new server will support six times more databases than before. The company noticed a considerable increase in hosted customers and had to respond to the demand and offer its customers a solution that was able to support a wide variety of queries from multiple customers.
In a release, Joel Gilbert, CIO of Pipkins, said, "When we decided to expand our hosted solution, we knew demand would be high. We wanted to ensure we had the highest performance up-front to avoid growing pains down the road."
Pipkins went through a number of different solutions before deciding that Fusion-io had the best technology and would give its customers the best benefits.
Pipkins decided to go with Fusion-io as it surpassed the company’s expectations with its price, performance, and also based on future operational expenses. Fusion-io has removed database queuing and wait time; enables a cloud business to be offered at an attractive, yet profitable, price point; has exceeded workload goal of 6x the data load to support more databases; costs a fraction of the closest alternative solution with the lowest future operational expenses and has also helps Pipkins' maintain its commitment to use only state-of-the-art technology in its SAS (News - Alert) 70 Type II certified datacenter.
"Our cloud customers are extremely cost-conscious but not at the expense of performance. We had to design a high-performance, yet affordable, architecture that would scale with rapid growth. Fusion-io was the only provider in its space that was able to satisfy these requirements. It hit our price point and exceeded our performance needs," Gilbert added.
At the HP Discover 2011 Technology Conference in Las Vegas last month, the benefits of the Pipkins solution, which integrates Fusion-io technology, were highlighted.
