Call Center Furniture: Comfortable and Green

Working at a desk all day can wreak havoc on the body. Poorly constructed call center furniture results in poor posture, leaving workers to resemble the Hunchback of Notre-Dame as they pass through the halls. Anyone who’s worked in a cubicle 40 to 50 hours a week can attest to the fact that the right chair can make or break your day.

A lack of support caused by low quality call center furniture can lead to neck and back strain that rivals that of a bad car accident, according to this mnn piece. The business also suffers as a result of poor quality furniture. Employees lose time by constantly having to readjust themselves to a comfortable position. Not only this, but productivity also decreases as body cramps turn to brain cramps with the need to get up and forsake that chair for a change of scenery.

While these chairs may not be cheap (some costing more than $1000), the real consideration is value. Costs incurred from ill-fitted call center furniture such as lost productivity, workers’ comp claims from back pain and carpal tunnel, and diminished employee job satisfaction are all much more expensive issues in the long-run than the seemingly hefty price tag (News - Alert) of these chairs.
