8x8's Virtual Office Heads North to Offer Canadians Hosted VoIP and other Cloud Services

By Daniel Brecht, Contributing Writer

Yesterday, industry-leader 8x8 (News - Alert), Inc., a unified communications (UC) solution provider based in San Jose, California revealed that it had launched its cloud-based services for our northern brethren, or in other words, Canadian-based businesses and branch offices of U.S. companies, to help them reduce infrastructure costs while increasing productivity.

Along with presenting its advanced, reliable and affordable business-class phone solutions for hosted IP Telephony and UC services for voice, video and mobile across the maple leaf country, 8x8 also brought its Virtual Call Center technology. Meanwhile, 8x8’s Virtual Office serves as s a complete business phone system over any Internet connection, which will also be publically available in most Canadian provinces.

The company’s Virtual Office cloud communications suite in Canada is supposed to offer unlimited local and long distance calling at a low monthly fee whenever making domestic US or international virtual phone number calls. Since 8x8’s call routing network  automatically has the number routed to the caller’s primary 8x8 phone line, it eliminates toll charges on long-distance calls, and thus, offers customers significant savings they could otherwise not achieve.

By using the company’s Virtual Office service – which uses a reliable VoIP (Voice over IP) business phone system that unifies communications in the cloud, subscribers are able to save money as well as gain an opportunity to be productive and responsive while on-the-go.

Even more, with no additional cost and using one’s 8x8 calling plan, an applicant can obtain the 8x8 Virtual Office extension app to go. The Virtual Office Mobile app can be downloaded to a mobile device and is suitable for an iPad, iPhone (News - Alert) (OS 3.1 or later) or Android phones (2.0 or later) to make and receive calls while on the move over 3G or Wi-Fi.

With 8x8 delivering Software as a Service (SaaS) business-class VoIP and Web-based telephony for those in Canada, the company is able to extend traditional phone services to include all the benefits of 8x8 Virtual Office, such as online meetings, call recording and Internet fax capabilities.

Canada-based companies can also benefits from 8x8’s single, virtual PBX Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution to provide cloud virtual data center hosting services. The company’s hosted PBX with computer telephony integration (CTI (News - Alert)) allows SMBs to expand and grow with their business, as they need them to for audio and video conferencing or Web-based UC.

This ultimately allows 8x8 to bring its unprecedented and highly-sought after value to Canadian-based businesses by delivering the necessary cloud communications services (delivered from its network of data centers in the US and Saskatchewan, Canada) in order to operate more efficiently as well as meet their customers' unique needs and requirements, 8x8 Chairman and CEO Bryan Martin (News - Alert), concluded.
