Cloud storage provider Nirvanix (News - Alert) has made its cloud storage services available through the Intel AppUp SMB Service, a subscription-based service built on the Intel Hybrid Cloud Platform.
In today’s economic climate, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), in particular, are looking for cost-effective ways to manage exploding data growth, according to Bridget Karlin, general manager at Intel (News - Alert).
“With the Intel AppUp SMB Service, we are providing MSPs with industry-proven solutions they can offer their customers,” Karlin said in a statement. “Adding solutions like the Nirvanix service allows us to enable MSPs to offer leading enterprise-class cloud storage as part of their SMB customers’ Intel AppUp SMB Service subscription. This gives customers on-demand, secure, usage-based storage capacity for backup and archiving applications.”
Company officials said the addition of its cloud-based service will bolster participating managed service providers’ (MSPs) offerings, allowing them to provide SME and SMB customers enterprise-level cloud storage services for on-demand, secure storage. Nirvanix’s cloud storage service is designed for backup, archiving, and recovery of business data.
By using Nirvanix CloudNAS gateway software and the Intel Hybrid Cloud Platform, customers can backup and archive data to the Nirvanix cloud in minutes, allowing MSPs to offer cloud benefits via an on-premises server, according to Dru Borden, CEO of Nirvanix.
“The integration of Nirvanix CloudNAS gateway software with the Intel Hybrid Cloud Platform enables customers to quickly and easily access our cloud storage services and to gain the enterprise-grade benefits of data protection with global replication, data consistency, multi-level security and infinite elasticity,” Borden said.
The Intel AppUp SMB Service features a scalable, pre-configured server with remote management capabilities. As more companies deal with Big Data, many are turning to cloud storage to store and safeguard critical files and applications.
“Nirvanix’s industry-leading cloud storage services enable Intel MSPs to address the exploding market for backup and archiving unstructured files and infrequently accessed content with a highly differentiated solution and a significant time-to-market advantage,” Borden added.
