When it comes to cloud computing, there is very little doubt that despite the fact that the technology is getting more popular all the time, there are plenty of companies that still don’t understand the tech all that well. That is one of the things that has kept cloud adoption from being as fast and as complete as cloud service providers might like.
It appears that one firm in Lincolnshire, England, wants to sort of lift the veil when it comes to cloud services. The company is allowing any business leader who would like to see under the hood to come in and get a demonstration. Among the features that will be shown off are how cloud services works, and what kind of features can take advantage of cloud-based programs.
There will be a number of talks that will be given by cloud service professionals, as a way to try to educate those who might still look at the solution as something for “other people.” Colin David, executive member for Economic Development at the Lincolnshire County Council, talked about the importance of more people understanding how the cloud can work.
“There are so many uses for the cloud and so many ways it can improve how a business functions and help to increase profit margins. The cost of maintaining servers through a cloud provider is lower than using physical servers, it saves space in the workplace and means if an office is damaged, for example by a fire, less information is at risk of being lost,” he said. “Thousands of people use cloud services every day and the way it allows businesses to work on the go and access files from anywhere is truly remarkable.”
Events like this can actually benefit both the cloud services provider and the companies that are looking for cloud services because it shows off big time benefits for both parties.
