Portland, Oregon based PHP Fog has announced that its Cloud PaaS for PHP developers will be generally available within the next 30 days.

A widely-used programming language, PHP is the foundation of Web-scale sites like Digg, Facebook, Photobucket, Wikipedia and The White House. It represents a large portion of overall Web development.

Company officials said that PHP Fog’s cloud hosting platform offers a reliable, scalable, fast PHP service leveraging all the latest cloud technology.

PHP Fog allows developers to focus on what they do best -- creating code -- and they don't have to worry about complex configurations and the nuances of daily maintenance programs for deployment environments, said Lucas Carlson, CEO and Creator of PHP Fog. “We take care of it for them.”

Carlson said that the company’s unique cloud-based architecture gives apps the reliability and scalability needed so that developers can deploy their code in a few keystrokes which means faster development and iteration cycles. “That in turn means better use of their time and less stress over things they don't need to be maintaining.”

To developers, PHP Fog gives dedicated resources for their apps in the cloud. In addition, it also works seamlessly with existing PHP apps such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla and frameworks like Zend, Cake and Kohana.

Moreover, PHP Fog also features an app store for introducing popular PHP apps like WordPress, Drupal, Magento and SugarCRM (News - Alert).

PHP Fog provides instant installation and N-tier scalable cloud deployment for PHP apps. It also allows one click installations of like Drupal and WordPress and extends this with simple scaling tools.

Earlier in January, 2011, New Relic, a software-as-a-service (Saas) provider of application performance management (APM (News - Alert)) solutions, and PHP Fog announced that organizations deploying business-critical web applications on PHP Fog can use RPM Bronze to monitor app performance 24x7, proactively troubleshoot potential issues, and more.
