Aryaka to Offer WAN Optimization-as-a-Service to 90 Percent of the World

Over 90 percent of the world’s business users can now benefit from Aryaka’s WAN optimization-as-a-service platform now that Aryaka has expanded its network points of presence globally. This expansion enables a highly optimized architecture for WAN optimization that ensures less than 20-millisecond latency of network traffic.

Aryaka, the world's first cloud-based WAN optimization company solving application and network performance issues faced by the distributed enterprise, has decided to expand its local points of presence as part of its mission to “place the network near the customer.”  The Aryaka Software-as-a-Service model attacks issues such as network latency, long deemed the “Achilles Heel” of organizations with centralized data centers, as it allows businesses to place pertinent corporate data, software resources and business applications within close proximity of users.

“What we are announcing is that we finally now are operational and universally available,” Ajit Gupta, founder and CEO of the company, told TMCnet in a recent interview. “Now we are less than 20 milliseconds away for 90 percent of the world’s business users.”

“There are about eight million branches out there, and only about 300,000 of them are using any WAN optimization box and it’s not because they don’t want it; it’s just because so far it has been very expensive and complex,” he added. “We are now the network for all the others. We built this from the ground up and now we’re going where our customers are.”

With this expansion, customers can now have better access and connectivity to a “much faster, simpler and affordable network,” according to Gupta.

Aryaka is adding new global customers who have been seeking a more practical alternative to the traditional WAN optimization model, which requires complex network equipment at every company location and an expensive and frustratingly complex communications protocol, MPLS, across the network, according to company officials. By re-architecting WAN optimization, eliminating the need for on-premise equipment and providing users – regardless of their location – under-20-millisecond latencies in accessing network resources, Aryaka enables all businesses to share in the promise of a faster global network.

“Aryaka has demonstrated that WAN optimization can deliver value to businesses of all sizes, and not just to the well-heeled enterprise,” said Bojan Simic of TRAC Research, in a statement.  “With today’s announcement, the company is bringing the network closer to the business user and enabling more organizations to reap the benefits of WAN optimization without the requirement for boxes or huge upfront costs and long deployment times.”

Many can benefit from this news, particularly those who have distributed offices and those companies who deal with a lot of transfers, backups and emails.

One of the main groups that can really benefit, however, are those mid market companies.

“We really want the mid market to finally have the courage to think about WAN optimization and think that there is a better way of traveling rather than just taking the ship and you don’t have to be scared about it,” Gupta told TMCnet.

Aryaka’s SaaS (News - Alert) model eliminates the business burdens of troubleshooting the network and upgrading equipment, the prohibitive losses incurred by network downtime, and the challenges of decommissioning and replacing equipment that has reached end of life, according to officials.

“Our vision is to make the corporate WAN an asset to business users across the globe,” said Gupta in a statement.  “Businesses should not be penalized for their size, growth, geographical expansion, or decentralization.  As we continue to expand our points of presence, we remain dedicated to delivering superior WAN and application performance to businesses, wherever they go and however they grow.”

Other features of the Aryaka cloud-based service include: enterprise-class dedicated bandwidth and visibility through the MyAryaka portal; scalability; reliability; high performance; network availability, and redundancy.  The topology further enables Aryaka to provide customizable quality of service (QoS), backed up by guaranteed service level agreements.

Recently, Aryaka was recognized as a Gartner “Cool Vendor” in Enterprise Communications (News - Alert) and Network Services for its disruptive SaaS model.
