Pathway Communications, a premier provider of integrated Internet solutions to businesses and residential customers, has selected Cloud.com’s CloudStack for its latest public cloud offering, CloudPath.

CloudPath, launched this month and hosted in Canada’s only Tier III-certified data center, offers a highly reliable and secure location for clients to house important data.

Company officials at Pathway said CloudPath is supplemented by a range of services like server management, network security, application support, Internet and branch connectivity and telephony.

With the help of these services, clients are able to enjoy the convenience of a single, qualified and experienced supplier for all their IT and Internet needs.

For the success of CloudPath, Pathway needed a cloud partner who offered flexibility and easy integration with a variety of existing infrastructure technologies at a low cost.

Pathway chose the Cloud.com cloud platform because it integrates seamlessly into Pathway’s existing infrastructure. This includes Citrix Xen, VMware, Cisco (News - Alert), KVM, Dell multi core servers, Linux and Windows 2003/2008.

“CloudStack’s ability to integrate with our existing environment was a huge plus for us. It has helped us decrease time-to-market and increase overall cost savings. By enabling us to manage all of our layers on one platform we have been able to save on manual effort and costs, such as those related to deployment of servers and SAN storage,” said Ashok Kalle, CEO and founder of Pathway Communications, in a press release.

“We are thrilled to be working with Pathway Communication on their CloudPath service. CloudStack was designed to be cost-effective, service-oriented and viable for the long term,” said Sheng Liang, co-founder and CEO of Cloud.com. “By using CloudStack, Pathway has been able to immediately deliver the benefits of the cloud computing operational model and deliver other benefits such as reduced energy costs and improved utilization of data center hardware. We look forward to helping the company grow and are excited for the future success of Pathway’s cloud service business.”

In related news, Cloud.com, a provider of open source cloud computing software, announced that KT (News - Alert), a Korea-based landline operator and mobile service provider, has selected its flagship technology, CloudStack, as the foundation for its new public cloud offering, KT ucloud.
