The idea for the business literally started in the classroom. While pursing his PhD in computer science, Cedric Jeannot was working on a project about how to provide state-of-the-art data protection.

The project quickly became fodder for a very practical and highly demanded business. Last August, Jeannot founded I Think Security, a company that touts itself on providing bulletproof IT security solutions of unparalleled reliability to protect the most sensitive corporate information.

“We secure stuff,” Jeannot told TMCnet at Interop (News - Alert) 2011 in New York City on Wednesday. “What we do is prevent cyber attacks, corporate espionage, and any threats to your organization.”

While I Think Security promotes state-of-the-art security, it is still easy to use and to deploy, something which makes the company unique, according to Jeannot.

The company has easily found a place within the market because whether it’s small or very large companies, all companies encounter the same security problems. However, most solutions are targeted to very large companies and for everyone in between there is often no solution, according to Jeannot.

That is where I Think Security comes in.

“We said let’s make security accessible for small businesses and we focused on convenience,” Jeannot said.

I Think Security offers QI, a USB device that allows you to secure files and folders independent of their location in just three clicks. QI protects sensitive files while allowing consumers to share encrypted volumes with other QI users.

For every single document, company officials can monitor who has accessed it, what the individual did with it, and where it was opened, among other things. QI has the ability to block certain companies from using the device as well as make the device inoperable in certain countries, cities and buildings.

According to I Think Security, even if you get hacked, the company can guarantee that the hacker will not be able to use the data. In order to ever be able to access the data, the hacker would have to physically possess the QI, figure out the password to gain access into the QI and have the actual document. A hacker would need all three of these things to gain access to the documents.

In fact, I Think Security is so sure that it can never be hacked that it held a contest at Interop today announcing that if consumers can hack into it, they can receive a Playback.

In addition to challenging participants, I Think Security spread the word Wednesday about its latest offering – Qloud, the most secure cloud, according to company officials.

“If you want to go to the cloud to store your documents and your number one concern is security then you should come to us,” Jeannot said.

Qloud provides highly secure document storage and sharing and allows users to store, access and share their files anywhere, anytime with the most advanced security infrastructure, according to company officials. Qloud also allows you to decide in which country your data resides.

“If you are not in the cloud you are not in the game,” Jeannot said when asked why the company decided to move to the cloud. “It’s a growing market everyone is going to have to go to. The number one reason for not going to the cloud is because of security concerns but for us it’s a good complement to our previous product.”
