BRIEF: Bloomington police: Pedestrian beaten, robbed of cash leaving party
Jan 25, 2013 (Herald-Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A man told Bloomington police he was beaten and robbed of the cash from his wallet by two men early Friday morning.
The 20-year-old reported that he left a party at a friend's house in the area of First and Washington streets just after 3 a.m.
He said that at the intersection of First and Henderson streets, two men started to punch him, causing him to fall on the ground, according to Bloomington police Lt. Bill Parker.
He said that one of the men took his wallet from the pocket of his pants, took the cash and left the wallet. The two men then took off running.
When the man got home, a roommate told him to call police.
He could not provide police with a description of the two men, other than they were wearing "baggy clothing," Parker said.
The man had injuries to his face, but was not taken to the hospital.
An investigation continues.
