Bitdefender Wins AV-TEST Best Repair Award

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA, Jan 30, 2013 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Bitdefender, creator of the world's best antivirus software, won the Best Repair title from German security institute AV-TEST, clinching an award from the second of two major independent testing organizations in the first weeks of 2013.

The award, which reflects Bitdefender's expertise in fighting malware infections already on a victim's computer, follows the awarding of the Product of the Year title to Bitdefender two weeks ago by the other major analysis firm, AV-Comparatives.

The Best Repair 2012 statuette by AV-TEST honors Bitdefender Internet Security's effectiveness in detecting, repairing and cleaning malware from an infected system. A main factor the security institute examined was the ability to detect hidden rootkits and remove malware that also alters the system.
