Fixmo Unveils Carrier-Grade SafeWatch Solution for Personal Security and Privacy Protection on Smartphones
TORONTO --(Business Wire)--
Fixmo,
a leader in mobile security and data protection solutions, today
announced Fixmo
SafeWatch, an innovative personal mobile security product for
consumers and business professionals.
As smartphones become a critical part of day-to-day life, there is
growing concern amongst end users over the potential impact of a lost,
stolen or compromised device. From personal data loss and privacy
violation to the disruption caused by a lost or stolen device-consumers
must look for new ways to protect their personal information and privacy
while using their smartphones for a growing set of services and
applications.
Fixmo SafeWatch helps smartphone users have a safe and protected mobile
experience. It provides a full suite of capabilities for protecting
personal data and privacy, detecting potential threats and malware, and
securing and locating a lost or stolen device. Android (News - Alert) device users can
now register for the Fixmo SafeWatch BETA program to receive one year of
service from Fixmo at no charge. Following the BETA period, Fixmo
SafeWatch will be made available to the general public for a monthly or
annual service fee. Fixmo SafeWatch is also available for white-labeling
by wireless operators and value-added resellers (VARs) to offer as a
customized monthly service to their subscribers. In December 2012, 3
Hong Kong was the world's first wireless carrier to launch a product
built on Fixmo Safeatch when
it introduced 3 Super Safe as a monthly service to the Hong Kong market.
With Fixmo SafeWatch, mobile subscribers remain protected from malware,
viruses and insecure network connections to mitigate the risk of
personal privacy violation and data theft. It keeps personal contacts,
photos and other information automatically backed up to the cloud,
ensuring personal data won't be lost if a device is misplaced or stolen.
Through its web-based personal management console, Fixmo SafeWatch
subscribers can easily lock a lost or stolen device and locate it using
GPS mapping, by issuing an audible alert command to make the device
'scream', or by having the device capture a photo and return it to the
user. And with its unique risk intelligence engine, Fixmo SafeWatch
monitors the device for abnormal or potentially malicious behavior and
proactively locks it down if it detects that it may be in a lost, stolen
or compromised state.
"With Fixmo SafeWatch, a lost or compromised smartphone does not have to
mean lost or compromised personal data or privacy," said Tyler Lessard (News - Alert),
CMO, Fixmo. "Smartphones have quickly become the most personal devices
we have ever owned, but they are also highly susceptible to loss, theft
and malicious attack. With Fixmo SafeWatch, we're building on the
experience we've gained in protecting Government and Enterprise clients
to give consumers and business professionals a no-compromise solution to
protecting their own mobile devices, private data and personal privacy."
