The new cyber threat

Carlo Minassian, MD of Earthwave, says the new breed of computer hackers want to steal data or money, rather than achieve notoriety. He reveals that Earthwave finds information security breaches at 95 per cent of its clients. Minassian says Australia is greatly unprepared for cyber attacks stemming from government-instigated espionage. In the last year, organisations such as the Australian Taxation Office and the Australian Defence Force Academy have been hacked.
