Cloud Services Provider NaviSite Continues to Join Hands with Large Enterprises

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

Time Warner (News - Alert) Cable company NaviSite powers a full suite of enterprise-class, cloud-enabled hosting, managed applications and services that organizations throughout the world are leveraging to significantly slash costs related to operating expenses. Enterprise customers rely upon the cloud services provider for its array of solutions that can be fully customized according to each individual firm’s needs, which prompted NaviSite (News - Alert) to debut the highly innovative NaviCloud ONE, touted as desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) solution.

As the bring your own device (BYOD) trend is being implemented within organizations in virtually every industry, the idea of the traditional desktop is being completely transformed. That is where DaaS comes in as it powers a secure and cost effective way for enterprises to support thousands of disparate devices, without making themselves vulnerable to any type of cyber attack.

“The predictions industry pundits have made about the rise of BYOD have come to pass, and its adoption is happening at an accelerated rate,” said David Grimes, chief technology officer at NaviSite. “Our DaaS offering, NaviCloud ONE, is allowing businesses to embrace BYOD while ensuring security of corporate data, enabling IT to set clear policies around usage and support, while employees easily access their desktops from anywhere and on multiple-devices.”

Complete with the ability to launch new desktops in a very short period of time, some other capabilities of the robust solution include the fact that it enables employees to work on-the-go without any affect to productivity and while remaining compliant with multiple security policies; workers can select and utilize the device they feel most comfortable with while simultaneously adhering to internal IT mandates; corporate security is raised to an unparalleled level; disaster recovery down to the employee level is readily available; and companies can easily expand their footprint while gaining access to a much less complex desktop infrastructure.

Last month, NaviSite entered into an agreement with EAT, a food retailer, that would enable the business to leverage the NaviCloud platform Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) for its brand new Web system.

EAT ultimately decided to form a strategic alliance with the cloud services provider as it was in search of a solution that could measure up to high availability and flexible resource demands, while simultaneously improving security within customer transactions.

"Security and compliance were of upmost importance to this project, so selecting the right service provider was crucial," added Cesar Ramanauskas, systems manager at EAT. "NaviSite was introduced to me over a year ago when I was given a live walk through of the NaviCloud AppCenter. As soon as I was ready to launch the new project the NaviSite team were my first port of call. I was impressed from the off with the customer service; I was told delivery was possible in a short time and the team went above and beyond to deliver."
